Abstract: The article centers on the concept of "Amate Praxis," defined as a theoretically informed, urgent commitment to love-in-action within education, combining care, connection, political and pedagogical action, and hope. Written as an open letter to new teachers, it emphasizes the importance of integrating theory, reflection, and practice (praxis) grounded in an ethic of love to create inclusive, just, and democratic classrooms. Drawing on educational scholars and activists such as bell hooks, Paulo Freire, and Bettina Love, the author advocates for educators to recognize their work as both political and transformative, nurturing students’ intellectual and emotional growth while opposing oppressive systems.
