| Abstract (English): | This article investigates the experience of the crisis in the alcohol and other drug clinic, with the aim of understanding how users of a Psychosocial Care Center (CAPS) characterize it. It considers social determinatios that aggravate alcohol and drug use and discuss the effects of the requirement of abstinence. Using Critical Hermeneutic and Narrative Methodology, results show that crisis is magnified by psychosocial intersections of racism, lack of basic rights, and violence, exacerbated by prohibitionism. Care practices that integrate individual and social dimensions are emphasized, promoting better living conditions and exposing the limits of prohibitionist models. Reducing drug users to sick people and outcasts reflects a limited understanding of the crisis, disregarding social determinants and reducing opportunities for those who potentially survive. Therefore, we understand the crisis as a psychosocial experience that requires welcoming and the legitimization of subjectivities, seeking ways to strengthen other connections with living. | Abstract (Spanish): | Este artículo investiga la experiencia de la crisis en la clínica de alcohol y drogas con el objetivo de comprender como la caracterizan los usuarios de un Centro de Atención Psicosocial (CAPS). Considera determinaciones sociales que agravan el uso y discute los efectos de la exigencia de abstinencia. A partir de la Metodología Hermenéutica Crítica y Narrativa, los resultados dejan claro que la crisis se potencializa por factores psicosociales tales como racismo, ausencia de derechos básicos y violencias, exacerbadas por el prohibicionismo. Se subrayan prácticas de cuidado que incluyan dimensiones individuales y sociales, promoviendo mejores condiciones de vida e indicando la ineficacia del prohibicionismo. Reducir usuarios de drogas a enfermos y personas marginales restringe la visión integral de la crisis, puesto que desconsidera los factores determinantes sociales y reduce oportunidades de aquellos que hacen vivir. Por lo tanto, comprendemos la crisis como experiencia psicosocial que exige acoger y legitimar las subjetividades, buscando pistas para fortalecer otros vínculos con el vivir. Considera determinações sociais que agravam o uso e discute os efeitos da exigência de abstinência. Pela Metodologia Hermenêutica Crítica e Narrativa, os resultados evidenciam que a crise se potencializa por atravessamentos psicossociais como racismo, ausência de direitos básicos e violências, exacerbadas pelo proibicionismo. Destacamse práticas de cuidado que contemplem dimensões individuais e sociais, promovendo melhores condições de vida e indicando a ineficácia do proibicionismo. Reduzir usuários de drogas a doentes e marginais restringe a visão integral da crise ao desconsiderar os determinantes sociais e reduzir oportunidades daqueles que potencialmente fazem viver. Portanto, compreendemos crise como experiência psicossocial que exige acolhimento e legitimação das subjetividades, buscando pistas para fortalecer outras conexões com o viver.
