| Abstract (English): | This article analyzes the connection between higher education and the employment market in Mexico, examining the benefits, inequalities, and challenges graduates face. Drawing on perspectives of human capital, labor market segmentation, and skills, it explores the quality of education, its relevance, and the effects of technological change on occupations. The methodology is based on a quantitative analysis of the National Occupation and Employment Survey and alumni follow-up studies to identify patterns in labor market entry, wage gaps, and differences across professional fields and job types. The findings show that although university education remains a key factor in the labor market and social inclusion, its returns are uneven. The report calls for strengthening graduate follow-up systems to provide feedback on academic programs and to respond to a changing work environment. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
| Abstract (Spanish): | Este artículo analiza la relación entre educación superior y mercado laboral en México, considerando beneficios, desigualdades y retos que enfrentan las y los egresados. Desde los enfoques de capital humano, segmentación laboral y capacidades, se examinan la calidad formativa, la pertinencia y los efectos del cambio tecnológico en las ocupaciones. La metodología se fundamenta en un análisis cuantitativo de la Encuesta Nacional de Ocupación y Empleo y en estudios de seguimiento de personas egresadas, para identificar patrones de inserción, brechas salariales y diferencias según área profesional y tipo de tarea. Los hallazgos muestran que, aunque la formación universitaria continúa siendo un factor de inclusión laboral y social, sus beneficios son heterogéneos. Se plantea fortalecer los sistemas de seguimiento de egresadas(os) para retroalimentar la oferta académica y responder a un mundo del trabajo en transformación. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
