Abstract (English): This study aims to examine the scope, distribution, and thematic structure of health-related content in 5th, 6th, 7th, and 8th grade science textbooks. The research was conducted using a qualitative case study design, and document analysis was employed for data collection. The units in the textbooks used during the 2024-2025 academic year were analyzed in terms of content types, and the data were interpreted through descriptive analysis. The findings indicate that health topics are included to a certain extent; however, their distribution across grade levels and units is not balanced. Health themes are particularly concentrated in the 6th grade, while they significantly decrease in the 7th grade, suggesting a lack of gradual continuity in health education across grades. At the unit level, health-related content is mostly embedded in biology-based topics, whereas it remains limited in physics and chemistry units. Units such as "Systems in Our Body and Health," "Reproduction, Growth and Development in Living Things," and "DNA and Genetic Code" stand out in terms of health emphasis. Furthermore, the findings reveal that health content is predominantly presented through informational texts, with limited inclusion of activities, experiments, visuals, and assessment components. At the categorical level, themes vary across grades, indicating weak thematic continuity in the presentation of health topics. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
Abstract (Turkish): Bu araştırmanın amacı, ortaokul 5, 6, 7 ve 8. sınıf fen bilimleri ders kitaplarında yer alan sağlıkla ilişkili içeriklerin kapsamını, dağılımını ve tematik yapısını incelemektir. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
