The article focuses on strategic thinking applied to environmental education at the University of La Sabana, under the direction of Dr. Ciro Parra Moreno, dean of the Faculty of Education. It highlights how strategic management, divergent thinking, and foresight allowed the integration of interdisciplinary and cross-cutting processes of pro-environmental training within the institution, overcoming traditional curricular barriers. The Bogotá River project exemplifies this strategy, generating knowledge, new academic programs, and greater institutional visibility on environmental issues. Finally, it emphasizes that leadership based on active listening, creativity, and long-term vision was key to consolidating a university culture committed to sustainability and human development. La inclusión de procesos de formación proambiental en la institución universitaria todavía es incipiente y el reto no es menor, pues la educación ambiental es un campo interdisciplinario, transversal y complejo que en ocasiones riñe con la estructura universitaria tradicional. En este ensayo analizaremos cómo, con una gestión directiva estratégica y asertiva de una facultad de educación, se logra permear la institución universitaria con procesos en formación proambiental.
