| Abstract: | This article reviews major changes to school finance policy adopted during New Mexico's 57th Legislative First Regular Session in 2025. The state continues to examine its P–20 education system and funding strategies to reduce persistent inequities. Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham has reaffirmed education as a central priority, directing significant new investments toward both K–12 schools and higher education. The discussion highlights the governor's education budget and key legislative actions, with particular attention to the General Appropriation Act (House Bill 2, 2025) and related measures from the 2025 session.
