| Abstract: | The study examines the policy implementation process aimed at enhancing environmental education (EE) in schools in South Korea using the actor-network theory. By analyzing policy reports, school teachers' interviews and self-reports, the study identifies human and non-human actors participating in the formation and dissolution of the EE alliance, and captures the dynamics generated by repeated interactions among the actors. While the actors form responsive EE alliance through negotiation and translation processes, fragility within the alliance becomes evident during the disconnection and dissolution processes influenced by other networks, such as academic performance and non-environmental education agendas. The findings emphasize the importance of considering the characteristics of EE alliances in implementing school EE policies. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
