The article focuses on the 80th anniversary of the Hessian Adult Education Association (hvv) and highlights the challenges and developments in adult education work in the coming decade. The anniversary issue covers various topics such as the transformation of networks in adult education, medialization and digitalization, future learning environments, as well as the problem of bureaucratization. Contributions analyze both historical developments and current practical examples and future perspectives, including European education networks and innovative digital learning spaces. The aim is to gain insights for the theory and practice of adult education and to reflect on the role of the professional journal "Hessische Blätter für Volksbildung" (HBV) as a link between theory and practice. Der Artikel fokussiert auf das 80-jährige Jubiläum des Hessischen Volkshochschulverbands e. V. (hvv) und beleuchtet die Herausforderungen und Entwicklungen der Volkshochschularbeit im kommenden Jahrzehnt. Im Jubiläumsheft werden verschiedene Themenfelder wie die Transformation von Netzwerken in der Erwachsenenbildung, Medialisierung und Digitalisierung, zukünftige Lernorte sowie die Problematik der Bürokratisierung behandelt. Beiträge analysieren sowohl historische Entwicklungen als auch aktuelle Praxisbeispiele und Zukunftsperspektiven, darunter europäische Bildungsnetzwerke und innovative digitale Lernräume. Ziel ist es, Erkenntnisse für Theorie und Praxis der Erwachsenenbildung zu gewinnen und die Rolle der Fachzeitschrift „Hessische Blätter für Volksbildung“ (HBV) als Bindeglied zwischen Theorie und Praxis zu reflektieren.
