| Abstract (English): | The article describes the origins, current situation and future prospects of the hvv's international educational work. It looks back at the exchange and educational trips organised by the first European Holiday Adult Education Centre, right through to the subsequent establishment of the European Education and Meeting Centres (EBZ). In the association's current work, characterised by projects and partnerships, the shift away from encounters towards an output-oriented approach is viewed critically. | Abstract (German): | Der Artikel beschreibt die Genese, die aktuelle Situation und die Perspektive der internationalen Bildungsarbeit des hvv. Er blickt zurück auf die Austausch- und Bildungsreisen zur ersten Europäischen Ferien-Heimvolkshochschule bis hin zur späteren Gründung der Europäischen Bildungs- und Begegnungszentren (EBZ). In der aktuellen Verbandsarbeit, geprägt von Projekten und Partnerschaften, wird die Verlagerung von Begegnung zugunsten von Outputorientierung kritisch betrachtet.
