Abstract (English): This study analyzes dysgraphia and its impact on spelling difficulties in children in elementary school. Therefore, we sought to clarify the influence of academic performance on spelling rules in the unit of analysis, as well as to identify the influence of self-esteem on spelling proficiency in the subjects studied and to measure the effect of the socio-emotional environment on writing skills in the subjects studied. A basic methodology was applied, with a quantitative approach, non-experimental design, and descriptive scope. The technique used was a survey, and the instrument was a structured survey with 54 closed items, applied to a sample of 25 students selected through non-probabilistic sampling. The results revealed that 69% of the students showed favorable academic performance and applied spelling rules consistently, although 28% had intermittent difficulties that affected the clarity of their texts. It was concluded that spelling difficulties have a negative impact on school performance, highlighting the need for systematic pedagogical strategies to strengthen spelling and improve learning.
