Abstract (English): Dual education is a pedagogical model that integrates theoretical training in higher education institutions with professional practice in real-world business environments. This article aims to identify, through a systematic analysis of the literature published since 2018, the advantages, limitations, and future prospects of dual education in Ecuadorian higher education, with an emphasis on undergraduate and technical degrees. A systematic literature review was conducted using the IMRAD approach, with content analysis of 47 documentary sources from the Scopus, SciELO, Dialnet, and Redalyc databases, as well as institutional repositories. The results show that dual education generates significant improvements in labor market integration, with average salary increases of USD 275 and a 2.6-month reduction in employment time. It also strengthens university-business partnerships and develops relevant professional skills. However, structural limitations persist, including limited business participation, insufficient monitoring regulations, and a gap between curricula and labor market demands. The outlook suggests that the recent approval of the Organic Law on Dual Training (2026) represents a regulatory milestone that could transform the Ecuadorian higher education system, provided it is accompanied by policies on financing, teacher training, and intersectoral collaboration.
