| Abstract (English): |
This article analyzes the social disadvantages influencing university major selection. Based on a qualitative methodology involving interviews with 40 graduates of bilingual technical universities, the study examines the students' decisions from psychological and sociological perspectives, guided by the concepts of vocational choice and agency. Only eight participants chose their major based on vocation, while 32 enrolled because they had not been accepted into their first-choice program. The study concludes that in contexts of inequality, choices regarding which university to attend are determined more by economic conditions and access than by vocation. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
| Abstract (Spanish): |
[ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
