| Abstract (English): |
Drawing on the sound characteristics of a space like the school and redefining noise as a complex sociocultural category, this article aims to describe the relationships between sound and the curriculum -specifically hidden or null-that emerge in the Fe y Alegría Luis Amigó Educational Institution in the Moravia neighborhood of Medellín. This research adopts a qualitative approach, supported by the methodological perspective of sound ethnography. Data collection techniques included floating listening and semi-structured interviews. The study participants comprised a representative sample of students, teachers, and school administrators. The analysis of results revealed relationships that dictate the rhythms of the institution, manifesting as a dynamic between the outside and the inside. Specifically, tensions arising from the uses and appropriation of space were highlighted, where the curriculum is ultimately disrupted due to the intrusive nature of sound perceived as noise. In conclusion, the potential of the intersection between the education sciences and sound studies was recognized as a means to generate curricular reflections regarding the formation of aural subjects, that is, subjects aware of production conditions of their own listening and their relationship with the others and with the environment, both within and beyond the school. | Abstract (Spanish): |
