In this work we defend that intercultural education is an exercise of education in values that is based on two propositions: ∎ The axiological sense of intercultural communication. ∎ Intercultural communication understood as an exercise in value choice. Our final postulate is that intercultural communication has axiological meaning and, necessarily, we must choose values in intercultural communication, in such a way that intercultural education becomes an exercise of education in values, because: ∎ Interculturalism is an exercise in tolerance. ∎ Intercultural education is a way of personal and groupenhancement. ∎ Intercultural education gives rise to innovation. ∎ Interculturality is an axiological proposal. En este trabajo defendemos que la educación intercultural es un ejercicio de educación en valores que se fundamenta en dos proposiciones: ∎ El sentido axiológico de la comunicación intercultural. ∎ La comunicación intercultural como ejercicio de elección de valores. Nuestro postulado final es que la comunicación intercultural tiene sentido axiológico y, necesariamente, tenemos que elegir valores en la comunicación intercultural, de tal manera que la educación intercultural se convierte en un ejercicio de educación en valores, porque: ∎ El interculturalismo es un ejercicio de tolerancia. ∎ La educación intercultural es un modo de fortalecimiento personal y de grupo. ∎ La educación intercultural es promotora de innovación. ∎ La interculturalidad es una propuesta axiológica.
