Abstract: The article focuses on the child study movement in Rhode Island which was organized through an address made by G. Stanley Hall, president at Clark University. Thomas B. Stockwell, commissioner of schools of the state, appointed a committee and proposed that a school of child-study be established, that a board of directors, that an auxiliary committee be organized, and that "Round Tables" be formed.
