Abstract: The Australian Science Teachers Association's School, Community, Industry Partnerships in science (SCIps) project provided a grant to a wildlife centre to work with a nearby primary school to develop an educational program for the community. There are many tiger snakes in the area and safety and conservation issues were the key to a program to increase the science awareness of the school and wider community. This paper reports a qualitative study of the program and its implementation. Issues relating to the success of the program, cooperation between the wildlife centre and the school, and the involvement of the community are explored, [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
