Abstract: The article emphasizes the influence of mainstream media on some of the books included in the 2006 paperback bestsellers of "Publishers Weekly." Based on the article, the extensive exposure of chef Rachael Ray on television (TV) has turned her from one-of-many TV chefs to a bestselling author. Dan Brown's "The Da Vinci Code" is already a bestseller, but the Tom Hanks film further boosted the book's sales. A list showing the all the bestselling paperbacks in 2006 is presented.
