Abstract: The article discusses the use of Machine-Readable Cataloging (MARC) record with curriculum-enhanced (CE) cataloging as tool for the assessment of U.S. libraries. It highlights that the use of CE-MARC includes documenting elements of the record itself, instructional terminology and pedagogy, state standards, and other resources. An overview on the development of the CE-MARC cataloging, as well as a discussion on how it could improve teachers' instructional choices, is presented .
