| Abstract: |
The article comments on some media images of the visit made by U.S. President George W. Bush to Pier 21 in Halifax, Nova Scotia. One image featured the president center front before a collage backdrop depicting moments of Canadian history, leadership and heroism. The authors note that the president dominated in an image, wherein he was standing in front of a Canadian flag, with the red maple leaf radiating like a halo around him. The authors claim that they were offended by the media spectacle created for the visit. |
