| Abstract: |
The article looks at the policy and partnership development, theory and practice in environmental adult education in the Learning for Environmental Action Program (LEAP) of the International Council for Adult Education from 1995 to 2006. LEAP has worked to ensure the integration of the concerns and needs of communities and environmental adult educators into the official Declaration and the Agenda for the Future. It has organized the "Environmental Adult Education: From Awareness to Action" workshop of the Environmental Thematic Working Group and the exhibit "Environment, Adult Education and Civil Society." LEAP has worked towards raising respect for and recognition of ecological knowledge, to stress environmental problems and to practice learning through nature. |
