| Abstract: | The article focuses on different methods of educational assessment in the U.S. It describes the advantages of formative assessment, which enables teachers to alter the curriculum throughout the year based on student achievement. The Northwest Evaluation Association (NWEA) is mentioned as a nonprofit organization which provided assessment help to schools. The No Child Left Behind Act (NCLB) is also mentioned and the relationship between test scores and learning is discussed. INSET: Congress Pays Attention. |
