| Abstract: |
The article discusses the search for the language of Yamatai in Japan. It states that based on the evidence gathered, it is found out that the people of Yamatai spoke a variety of Japonic, although it cannot be denied the possibility that the polity spoke more than one dialect. The data in the evidence also suggest that there were at least two languages spoken within the Wa polity. Moreover, the author also argued that the language of Wa is related to a language on the peninsula, and that the immigrants from the peninsula brought it with them. |
