Abstract: Chapter 5 of the book "Part II: The Educational Experiences of Fourth and Eight-Grade American Indian and Alaska Native Students" is presented. It explores the extent to which American Indian/Alaska Native (AI/AN) culture and language were integrated into the curriculum experienced by AI/AN students. It highlights the perspectives of both the principal and teachers to the questions about standards and the responses of teachers on assessments used in the classroom.
