| Abstract: | This article discusses the growth in audiovisual materials in libraries. The article discusses ways to purchase and maintain CDs and DVDs and downloadable media and weeding outdated material. The weeding criteria for audiovisual materials is similar to that for print media. Libraries with limited funding must keep older materials available as long as they can until they can afford newer formats. The smaller size of the newest media formats also necessitates new security features for libraries. |
