Abstract: The article focuses on the future changes in student demographics and declining graduation numbers in the U.S. It discusses the dramatic demographic disruption among high school students experienced by the country between late 1970s and through the 1980s. It examines the high school graduation data from the National Center for Education Statistics (NCES) and the Western Interstate Commission of Higher Education (WICHE).
