| Abstract: | The article presents the author's insights on the homily at mass which many Roman Catholic priests and deacons think must always be based and focused on the Scriptures. He mentions on the promulgated document "Constitution on the Sacred Liturgy" of the Second Vatican Council which defines the meaning of sacred text, and cites the risks of losing sight to preach the liturgy and simply to preach the Scripture readings. He concludes that preaching should engage the whole liturgical resource. |
