This thesis is a case study mainly based on 1) Roger's humanistic psychology with an affective focus and 2) Dell Hymes' concept of Communicative Competence. Through the analysis of the questionnaires designed by the author and the interview afterward, the author has discovered many issues on the part of teachers in College English Intensive Reading class. This paper elaborates and reveals the problems from the quality of teachers, and relationship between teachers and students in the process. Meanwhile, the paper involves some practical solutions accordingly which will be helpful in improving College English Intensive Reading teaching. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
