The author discusses the achievements of the Australian Science Teachers Association (ASTA) as it celebrates its 60th anniversary in 2011. An overview of the ASTA membership is provided. ASTA Life Members since the organization's inception in 1951 include John Anderton, Cec Burr and Marj Colvill. ASTA publications include the "Australian Science Teachers' Journal," "Investigating" and "Teaching Science." |
