A biography of information scientist Martha E. Williams is presented. She was born on September 21, 1934 and was educated at Barat College and Loyola University. She later worked for the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC), where she established the Information Retrieval Research Laboratory (IRRL). She also served as the editor of the periodical "Annual Review of Information Science and Technology" (ARIST) and as president of the American Society for Information Science (ASIS). |
