The article offers author's insights on the risks of sexual assault that young women are facing when going out at night. The author mentions the view of Andrew Scipione, New South Wales (NSW) police commissioner, on the need for young women to take responsibility for their safety. She mentions that the actions and choices that women make have an influence on such risk. The author states that the regard for bars with a pick-up culture as one of the venues where unwanted sexual attention can occur. She mentions that the risk of occurrences of unwanted sexual attention is perhaps created through behavior and attitudes of the perpetrators of such behaviors. |
