| Abstract: | The article discusses the implications of the destructive messiness of teachers commenting on students' papers by focusing on the seemingly haphazard doodles, circles and hatchmarks teachers make on students' texts. These commentaries also highlight the need for teachers to practice what they preach about effective communications to achieve the greatest results for students. |
