Abstract:	In this article, the author discusses war in Iraq and also reflects on teaching modern world history to the ninth grade students at Madison High School in northeast Portland, Oregon on topics including war in Iraq. Topics discussed include post war reconstruction work in Iraq by the U.S., textbook written by author Holt McDougal which describes Iraq war as a military affair, and a role-play written by the author to explain the economic dimensions of the Iraq war to his students.
