The authors comment on the need for middle level professionals to create and sustain high professional standards that would act as a catalyst for positive development and transformation of young adolescent lives. They discuss a letter campaign launched by high-school aged sisters Emily and Sarah Buder to help Olivia Gardner, an epileptic patient and young adolescent bullying victim. The prevalence of bullying in middle school is noted. |
