Abstract: The article presents discussion regarding educational lesson planning which tailors the level of instruction to the abilities of the pupils, seeking to provide challenging work which will further foster motivation in students. Topics addressed include the importance of students feeling challenged, the communication of teacher beliefs of student capability, and the role of feedback as an enabling mechanism to further encourage students.
