| Abstract: | The possibilities of localization of hurricane origin areas are analyzed using the HOAPS satellite dataset on the spatial distribution of surface heat fluxes. In these areas, an increase in latent and sensible heat fluxes during 4-6 days preceding the origin of hurricanes is observed. At the same time, heat fluxes reach their maximum values simultaneously with the transition of tropical systems from the stage of a tropical storm to the stage of a tropical hurricane.
