Abstract: The article provides a multidisciplinary overview of recent geological and geophysical research, focusing primarily on a rare real-time observation of a strike-slip earthquake along Myanmar’s Sagaing Fault in 2025. Using CCTV footage analyzed by Kyoto University researchers, the study confirmed a rapid, pulse-like rupture with a 2.5 m lateral displacement occurring in just 1.3 seconds, offering new insights into fault dynamics.
