Abstract: Primary considerations for a positive school personnel policy are outlined in eight sections, as follows: (1) Faculty and staff recruitment and selection; (2) job analysis and classification; (3) personnel assignment and evaluation; (4) policy development; (5) welfare benefits, including leaves, fringe benefits, continuing contracts, working conditions, and merit pay; (6) orientation and professional development; (7) communications within the school staff; and (8) recommended sources for use in policy development.
