Abstract: Microfiche viewers and viewer-printers available in the United States in 1973 are described. General evaluation criteria are first discussed to assist the potential buyer in developing a frame of reference for making judgments. Following this, detailed specifications, including photographs of the equipment, are uniformly listed for each of the 92 models surveyed. Features discussed include: model name, lenses available, fiche size accepted, screen size, screen type, positioning controls, optical system, rated lamp life, additional features available at no extra cost, optional extra-cost accessories, warranty period, list price, and discounts offered. Additional information is provided for those viewers capable of printing full-sized paper copies, including the process used, print speed, print size and print cost. (PB)
