Abstract: This report describes a program aimed at the demonstration, test, and evaluation of the educational and economic effectiveness of the PLATO IV computer-based education systems as implemented in several geographically dispersed military training sites. Also described is a program designed to increase the cost effectiveness of the PLATO system, both in its deployment in the Advanced Research Projects Agency (ARPA) community and in its continuing development as a national resource for education.
