Abstract: Designed to be used as a supplement to a two-book course in basic drafting, these instructional materials consisting of 14 units cover the process of drawing all working drawings necessary for residential buildings. The following topics are covered in the individual units: introduction to architectural drafting, lettering and tools, site conditions, residential design, structural systems and building materials, introduction to working drawings, dimensioning, foundations, details, plumbing, forced air heating/ventilating/air conditioning (HVAC) systems, electrical systems, specifications, and presentation drawings. Included in the individual instructional units are some or all of the following: performance objectives, suggested activities for instructors, information sheets, transparency masters, job sheets, assignment sheets, tests, and test answers. Instructional materials in the publication are written in terms of student performance, using measurable objectives, and are accompanied by criterion-referenced instruments. (MN)
