Abstract: Proper installations, inspections, operations, maintenance and repairs of wastewater collection, conveyance and treatment facilities have a significant impact on the operation and maintenance costs, and the effectiveness of these facilities. This manual is the second volume of a two-part program designed to provide wastewater collection system operators with the knowledge and skills to effectively operate and maintain collection systems. Originally developed as a part of a home-study course for collection system operators in remote areas, it is now used as a text in college and university classes. This volume contains chapters dealing with: (1) lift stations; (2) equipment maintenance; (3) sewer rehabilitation; (4) safety/survival programs for collection system operators; (5) administration; and (6) organization for system operation and maintenance. Included is a final examination, a glossary of terms, and an index. (TW)
