| Abstract: | This packet contains four products of a workplace literacy course on numbers and charts for hospital workers. The instructor's manual contains an answer key for the student activities, and a pre- and post-evaluation, along with a syllabus for the 13-week course that provides information on instructional goal, course description, objectives, rationale for the course, grading system, and major curriculum topics. The student workbook provides 42 activities that hospital workers can use in a classroom setting to improve their mathematical and chart interpretation skills. The activities are designed to help students improve their thinking and problem-solving skills, their abilities to read charts and measurements in the workplace, and to maintain a handbook of terms to assist them in understanding number context. A resource manual provides documents that hospital personnel typically encounter on the job. (KC) |
