Abstract: This directory lists resources that can help young people explore, understand, and question the world around them. Most of the materials use active learning methods, which promote skills in discussion, cooperation, and small group work. Most of the 100 or so resources in this directory have been produced by the Joint Agencies Group (JAG), a network of practitioners in development education and youth work within Development Education Associates. Global youth work is defined by the JAG as work that enables young people to develop the skills, attitudes, and values that empower them to bring about change in today's interdependent world. The directory is divided into two parts. The first contains an alphabetical list of 45 key development, environment, international exchange, and youth work agencies. The second part lists more than 100 global education resources, which are also arranged in alphabetical order. These resources include magazines and newsletters, teaching kits, videos, and other instructional and informational materials. After each title, there is a brief description, details about the resource user, and publication date. (SLD)
