Abstract: This memorandum provides information on the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT)/American College Test (ACT) participation and performance for 2024 high school graduates in Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) compared to those in the State of Maryland and the nation. Trends of SAT/ACT participation and performance in 2022 and 2024 are included in this memorandum, showing: (1) SAT participation rates for 2024 graduates in MCPS, the State of Maryland, and the nation were 78.6 percent, 70.0 percent, and 51.1 percent, respectively; (2) the average SAT total scores for the MCPS Class of 2024, the State of Maryland, and the nation were 1063, 998, and 1024 points, respectively; (3) ACT participation rate for 2024 graduates was 10.2 percent for MCPS and 6.0 percent for the State of Maryland; and (4) the average ACT composite scores for the MCPS Class of 2024 and the State of Maryland were 26.7 and 24.7, respectively.
