Abstract: The 2020/22 Beginning Postsecondary Students Longitudinal Study (BPS:20/22), conducted by the National Center for Education Statistics (NCES) at the U.S. Department of Education, is the first follow-up data collection of students who began postsecondary education in the 2019-20 academic year. BPS:20/22 draws from the 2019-20 National Postsecondary Student Aid Study (NPSAS:20) to create a nationally representative sample of first-time beginning undergraduate students (FTBs). The data collected in BPS:20/22 are intended to provide researchers and policymakers with key information on persistence and attainment through the third academic year after students' initial enrollment in postsecondary education. This data file documentation details the methods used to collect, process, and analyze these data.
