Abstract: Adults without high school diplomas are at a disadvantage when competing for Ohio's in-demand jobs. In response, the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce developed programs for adults to earn their high school diplomas. In 2014, the 22+ Adult High School Diploma program was implemented to allow adults 22 years or older to earn a high school diploma. Participants are required to complete this credit recovery competency-based program within two years. Once completed through an approved provider, the school district of residence at the time of enrollment will issue the high school diploma and transcript. Ohio law requires the Department to report each provider's performance and publish the report on the Department's website annually. Each provider's performance is based on the following measures: (1) average number of credits earned; (2) percentage of participants completing 40% or more of credits necessary to earn a diploma during year one; (3) number and percentage of participants who earned their diplomas, withdrew, and/or returned their second year; and (4) performance on state-required content assessments and other relevant work-readiness assessments. This report provides data for fiscal year 2024 and is used to inform stakeholders of each provider's progress and make improvements to ensure participants successfully complete the program.
