Abstract: The "IDRA Newsletter" serves as a vehicle for communication with educators, school board members, decision-makers, parents, and the general public concerning the educational needs of all children across the United States. The focus of this issue is "Student Leadership in Education." Contents include:(1) Discipline Disparities Push Black Girls Out of Classrooms: IDRA Youth-Led Study Examines Discipline in Atlanta-Area Schools (Makiah Lyons); (2) Students Claim Their Place in Education Policy: IDRA Civic Changemakers Equips Students to Speak Their Truth to Power (Mikayla Arciaga); (3) Students Weigh the Promise and Challenges of Big College Readiness Initiative (Hector Bojorquez); (4) How Schools Should Support Children Impacted by ICE Raids; and (5) Federal Civil Rights Protections for Students are Unraveling: Major News Outlets Cite IDRA Experts and Families as Racism Complaints Remain Unresolved.
