| Abstract: | National Education Association (NEA) Research collects, maintains, and analyzes data on issues and trends affecting the nation's public education systems, their employees, and students. This report, Rankings of the States 2025 and Estimates of School Statistics 2026, contains data primarily based on information from state departments of education. Part I of this report--"Rankings 2025"--provides state-level data on an array of topics relevant to the complex enterprise of public education. Part II of this report--"Estimates 2026"--provides data tables projecting public school enrollment, employment and salaries of personnel, and finances, as reported by state departments of education or projected by NEA using standard statistical techniques. Part III of this report--"National Trends 2017-26"--presents summary data of national trends in student enrollment and attendance, staff salaries, sources of school funding, and levels of educational expenditures in the previous 10 years. |
