| Abstract: | As 2020 draws to a close, so does this first volume of Mathematics Teacher: "Learning and Teaching PK-12" ("MTLT"). Ascribing to a digital-first philosophy, the articles comprising this first volume included digital assets such as classroom videos, author introductions, and digital applications (e.g., Desmos apps) and addressed mathematical processes, effective teaching practices, and equitable and inclusive classrooms. Admittedly, these articles were, for the most part, conceptualized and written prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, at a time when instruction was primarily facilitated in brick-and-mortar settings. The pandemic, though, has led to a global demand for remote instruction. This impact on mathematics teaching and learning inspired the authors, members of the "MTLT" Editorial Board, to review this volume's Front-and-Center articles with an eye on how the ideas may be used in virtual instruction. |
