| Abstract: | This article locates a consideration of the contemporary state of film education in Bulgaria within a wider discussion of the value of school-based arts education. Drawing upon the work of Arte Urbana Collectif -- an artistic collective based in Sofia -- and, in particular, upon two short case studies of the delivery of an innovative, state-approved programme of film education within a small primary school, and as part of a programme of teacher training, this article ultimately presents a series of proposals for the future of film education in Bulgaria. |
